Super 14 week 12 - Part 2
The less said about the Lions playing in Wellington the better. Last year the Lions won by 23, expect the Hurricanes to return the favour. Hurricanes by 23.
Now onto the tough stuff.
Waratahs travel to Loftus to make it 4 out of 4 against for the Saffer teams. Their only defeats have come from Kiwi teams this year and it looks likely that they’ll blitz this one, too. They’re dominating the indicators including conceding just half the amount of points that the Bulls have. Their defense is excellent and they are master tacticians at shutting down the opposition’s game plan. The only thing that stands in the bulls favour is home ground and the fact that they should be a little fresher after their bye. Which isn’t enough. Waratahs by 12.
Brumbies enjoy some Cape Town air on Saturday, where both teams are vying for semi-final positions. It doesn’t get much tougher than this. Brumbies have won their last 3 games - all away games. Stormers have won their last 4 games but they’ve mostly been at home. Most of the stats are actually going for the Brumbies and the most significant of these is that Stormers have yet to actually beat the Brumbies. Bizarre. Last year the Brumbies fired up in the second half of the tournament and with Stormers injury woes, I’m going for the Brumbies by 6.
