Hi welcome to the Rugbyoracle.com blog.
We had quite a successful start to the year with regard to game predictions starting with a 69% success rate for the super 14 which is 5% increase from last year. We also managed to get an 87% success rate on Rugby World Cup, which when you look at is probably less than a handful wrong over the entire tournament.6 nations was a shocker, frankly – which was a pity.
Hopefully we improve upon that one next year. So what’s up next?
Well 2 main things really:
1) This. The rugbyoracle blog, which will launch officially before Super 14 next year. We have some exciting writers who should be one-eyed and ranting.
2) adding an additional neural network indicator to the predictions and generally tidying up the prediction process. This should add some artificial intelligence to my rather shaky logic.
Actually this is pretty exciting since the model I have built is currently consistently beating the betting shops in picking winners by one or two percent so if I add on this more structured statistical model I hope to really pick up the percentages next year! We should also make the site a little more user friendly with a front page with the predictions on so that you don’t have to searching for them in the Final tab.

Mate, why would i be interested in a tipping program that couldnt even beat me in the RWC07 tipping comp?
But i can understand why it beat you in the same comp, thats because you dont really understand the game of rugby.
Now it was fun having my awesome tipping skills pushed by a computer, so i will hang around for another season of S14 just to give it another chance.
I am interested in knowing when it will tip the margin’s as well as the winner?
Are you going to include the Heini Cup as well, now that you have access to the comp? It kills me that no station or channel will show the games over here.
Also, why not try and incorporate a tipping comp of your own on the site, so the world can compete against the Oracle!
Looking forward to the season starting. I know it is still 3 months away, but im gagging for a fix of ruggers.
